Here’s a post we know many have been waiting for…. NW 20th Avenue PAVING ANNOUNCEMENT!

That’s right, NW 20th Avenue has nearly reached the pavement stage of the project. The contractor is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 21st (weather permitting).

Just like the paving on NE Grace, this will be done in two phases, a base layer followed by a top layer.

📍 NW 20th Avenue between W. Main Street and Onsdorff Blvd.
☝️ Paving will take place one lane at a time
🟢 Access will be maintained for residents and businesses
🦺 Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic

Please help keep crews safe by slowing down and driving carefully near work zones.

Speaking of NE Grace, the contractor is out there paving as we speak! Announcements of Grace’s reopening coming SOON! 🤗

Today, we remember the men and women, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, friends and loved ones whose lives were lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the heroes who ran toward danger, the countless hands that reached out to help, and all those whose lives were forever changed.

In the face of unimaginable tragedy, our nation showed extraordinary courage, compassion, and unity. May we never forget those we lost, the sacrifices made, or the strength we found in one another.

United we stand.

Crews made great progress on NE Grace Avenue last week before the storm hit us! They completed a good portion of the base layer of asphalt on Friday.

Did you know that roads are paved in layers?
👉 The base layer provides strength and support for the pavement.
👉The surface layer is the finished driving surface designed to handle traffic and weather.

Weather permitting, crews will be back for the next asphalt pour on September 14. The timing between pours is based on material availability and the contractor’s schedule.

In the meantime, the contractor will continue preparing the road base and completing other site work ahead of the next pour. Once everything is complete, we will be excited to reopen Grace Ave! 🤗

So, what do you do when you host a community event and have a couple hundred hot dogs left over? 🌭

Fortunately for us, we have the North County Community Food Bank right here in Battle Ground! Our Public Works staff was helping clean up after National Night Out earlier this week, and they were able to take the unopened packages of hot dogs and hot dog buns to the food bank so they wouldn’t go to waste. 🤗

Thank you to everyone who joined us for National Night Out! And a special thank you to the North County Community Food Bank for helping us with our hot dog problem, and for everything you do to support families throughout North Clark County! 💛
