Structure Fire – 3045 SR 225 E
Tippecanoe Township, IN — 05/17/2026

At approximately 6:49 PM on May 17th, the Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 3045 SR 225 E for a barn that was on fire.

TTVFD arrived on scene at 6:52 PM with heavy fire coming from the barn that extended to nearby vehicles. There were also multiple exposures around the structure. While en route TTVFD requested mutual aid from multiple agencies from Tippecanoe and White County. Firefighters made a defensive attack due to the full fire involvement of the barn and brought the fire under control.

Thank you to all assisting agencies for their assistance.

Structure Fire – 481 Woods Edge Ct
Tippecanoe Township, IN — April 29, 2026

At approximately 7:14 PM on April 29, 2026, the Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 481 Woods Edge Ct for a reported shed fire.

Units arrived on scene at 7:22 PM to find heavy fire conditions involving the shed, with extension to a nearby mobile home. Additional resources were requested from the Wabash Township and West Lafayette Fire Departments.

Firefighters initiated an offensive fire attack and brought the incident under control.

The Tippecanoe Township Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all assisting agencies for their support.

LOST CELL PHONE
Did you loose a cellphone near St Rd 43 and 650N?

Fire and EMS were dispatched Friday evening,for a 911 cellphone crash detection about 7:45pm. All that was found was a damaged phone laying in road. If it’s yours, contact Battle Ground fire Monday morning between 8am and 11am. Screen broke but otherwise working. 765 567 2011

This afternoon, our department responded to a structure fire in the Hunters Ridge subdivision. We are extremely grateful to our dedicated volunteers who left their families and homes behind to work tirelessly for the next 9 hours to help a family in need. With the support of our mutual aid partners, we were able to shuttle nearly 90,000 gallons of water over three miles to the scene. We cannot thank our volunteers and the following departments enough for their commitment and teamwork in helping us serve our community.

Lafayette Fire Station 9, Lafayette Fire Station 2, Sheffield Fire Department, Lafayette Fire Station 6, Emergency Ambulance Service, Mulberry Fire Department, Rossville Fire Department, Lafayette Battalion 10, Battleground Fire Department, Lafayette Station 3, and the Tippecanoe County Fire Chiefs Association Rehab Crew.

This week, members of TTVFD’s Apparatus Committee traveled to SVI Trucks in Fort Collins, Colorado for a preconstruction meeting for our new rescue truck.

This meeting is an important step as we work with the manufacturer to finalize details and ensure the truck meets the needs of our department and community.

Update: The left lane is open.

Due to hazardous road conditions and multiple crashes, Interstate 65 is shut down at the 178 mile marker (State Road 43). Indiana State Police troopers are currently on scene working to clear the roadway and restore traffic flow.

Please use caution in this area and while traveling in general today. Slow down, increase following distance, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Further updates will be provided as conditions change.
