In preparation for this summer’s Northern Strike, the 110th Wing sent a team to Alpena Tuesday, to scout for a future air component forward experiment. The experiment will feature a joint team rapidly deploying to Alpena, where they will stand up a command-and-control element and generate air tasking orders for the exercise.

Efforts like this strengthen our ability to rapidly deploy, establish command and control, and deliver mission-ready capabilities when and where they’re needed most.

Leading from the front, TSgt Hostetler expertly guided his squad through a mock village, demonstrating decisive leadership, tactical expertise & a commitment to mission success.

Shout out to our 2 Medical Augmentees
SSgt Jacob Lowell & SSgt Blake Bernard being guided by TSgt Hostetler.

Teaming up to practice combat casualty care, care under fire, weapons handling, and close quarters combat tactics.

🚨 EXERCISE, EXERCISE, EXERCISE 🚨

Preparedness through community partnership 🤜🏽🤛🏽

The 110th Wing recently partnered with local authorities to conduct a tabletop exercise focused on strengthening coordination, communication, and emergency response readiness.

Exercises like these provide an opportunity to walk through real-world scenarios, identify opportunities for collaboration, and ensure seamless support when it matters most.

By bringing military and community partners together at the table, we build stronger relationships, sharpen response plans, and reinforce our shared commitment to protecting the communities we serve.

From Battle Creek to Monrovia 🌍⚽

We’re proud to see 110th Wing Airmen representing Michigan through partnership, service, and connection.

U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Cameron McArthur and 1st Lt. Spencer Lawson recently traveled to Liberia as part of the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program, strengthening ties with the Armed Forces of Liberia through professional exchanges and meaningful community engagement.

From sharing expertise in chaplaincy development, casualty assistance, and mortuary affairs to connecting with local youth on the soccer field, these moments reflect the power of partnership beyond borders.

For more than 15 years, the Michigan National Guard’s partnership with Liberia has built lasting relationships rooted in trust, readiness, and shared purpose, and we’re proud our Airmen are part of that legacy.

An unforgettable evening celebrating legacy, service, and the incredible people who make it all possible.

The 110th Wing Ball was more than a formal event, it was a reminder of the strength, resilience, and pride that lives within this community.

Nights like this matter. They give us space to pause, to connect beyond the mission, and to celebrate how far we’ve come together.

Grateful for the memories, the mission, and the people who make both meaningful.

🔥 Airman Spotlight: TSgt Gregory Liggins 🔥

Congratulations to TSgt Liggins from Force Support Squadron who was selected as the 3F2 of the quarter for National Guard Bureau!

Liggins played a vital role in strengthening unit readiness and mission success across the wing. He supported the AOC Strategy Division, 217 AOG, USAFE, and AFAFRICA, ensuring 206 Airmen remained deployable while providing critical deployment backfill support.

He expertly managed personnel actions, training programs, decorations, enlistments, and the 110th Wing 2096 tracker, processing 103 duty position and AFSC updates to keep commanders informed and units mission ready.

Additionally, TSgt Liggins enhanced Force Development by managing $65K in formal school and MEST orders, directly contributing to the wing’s 100% budget ex*****on.

A true force multiplier and readiness linchpin. 💪🏽✈️

Serving Those Who Serve: Michigan National Guard Volunteers Send Holiday Cheer Nationwide

Today, Airmen and Soldiers from the Michigan National Guard came together at Wahmhoff Farms with one mission in mind: to bring a little more light, hope, and home to military families across the country this holiday season.

With teamwork, grit, and plenty of holiday spirit, our volunteers loaded 638 Christmas trees; each one destined for a military family who deserves to feel connected, supported, and remembered.

These trees are more than decorations.
They’re a symbol of resilience.
A reminder of home.
And a small way to honor the sacrifices made by those who wear the uniform and the families who stand behind them.

A special thank you to Wahmhoff Farms for hosting this meaningful event and supporting those who serve.

To every Airman, Soldier, and community partner who rolled up their sleeves today: thank you. Your service doesn’t stop at the mission. It shows up in moments like this - quiet acts of kindness that strengthen our military community.

Here’s to spreading joy, one tree at a time. 🌲
