Yesterday, I attended the Louisiana State Police graduation and swearing-in ceremony in Baton Rouge! I’m so proud of these brave men and women who will now join this elite team, dedicated to protecting and serving the public.

I especially want to congratulate my good friend Olivia Collins on her graduation! I have watched her grow up and I’m so proud of the person that she has become. She now joins an incredible team at State Police, and I wish her and her graduating classmates all the best.

👑 🌊 I'm proud to annouce that Cher and I will serve as King and Queen of the 2026 Wooden Boat Festival, hosted by the Maritime Museum Louisiana in Madisonville!

This iconic festival, this year taking place on October 17-18, 2026, is one of Louisiana's premier celebrations of the maritime history and community that surrounds us. Louisiana has such a deep-rooted and special relationship with our waterways, and this is a great opportunity to see craftsmanship in person and learn more about maritime history while engaging with the community.

We officially accepted the honor at last night's Maritime Museum Louisiana Fundraising Gala! This great museum is so unique, and offers such a special glimpse into Louisiana's maritime story, so be sure to check it out when you're in the area.

Yesterday, I stopped by this year's Critical Marine Infrastructure Workshop, held at the Wyndham New Orleans Airport & Conference Center in New Orleans! This workshop brought together over 150 workers from CPRA, the oil and gas industry, the marine industry and more to learn about safety best practices on the job, and how to mitigate and handle critical risks.

This industry is close to my heart, and I'm so thankful to all of these hardworking people for their dedication to our economy on the gulf coast. The safety of workers and residents of Gulf Coast communities alike is so important, and I'm glad to see it prioritized with events like this one.

Check out this awesome video about Hansen’s Sno-Bliz, credited with being one of the first ever motorized ice-shaving machines! This legendary stand is still open and thriving, so be sure to check it out this summer when you're in the area!

This week, Assistant Secretary of Tourism Doug Bourgeois and I attended the 11th Annual Skal New Orleans Industry Update! It was great to speak to industry leaders from New Orleans and Company, the Port of New Orleans, Brand USA, and many more all about the present and future of tourism in our state.

I was so grateful to have the chance to engage with hospitality experts from New Orleans about how we can continue to grow our entire state as a world-class travel destination for people from all over the world.

🇺🇸 📢 THIS WEEKEND!

Join us in downtown Baton Rouge this Sunday, June 14 for the Flag Day Parade & Festival! The parade rolls at 4 p.m. N 6th St. and North Blvd near the Old Governor's Mansion, and ends at North Blvd and River Road near the Old State Capitol. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the festival in Galvez Plaza following the parade. There will be live music, food, and activities for the whole family!

This event is free and open to all, so come on out and celebrate America's flag, and it's 250th birthday!

The America 250 seminar and exhibition at the State Library of Louisiana yesterday was a huge success! Thank you so much to everyone who attended, and to Chris Achee and Ray Berthelot for their informative and entertaining speeches.

The exhibition displaying documents and maps from SPanish colonial Louisiana will be on display in the lobby of the State Library through the fall, so don't miss the chance to check it out and learn a little more about Louisianan and American history!

I had the privilege today of attending the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Law Enforcement Recognition luncheon in Gonzales! This special event honors law enforcement officers who issued over 30 DUIs in the last year. I am so grateful to these brave men and women who are so dedicated to removing impaired drivers from our roads. Their work is difficult and draining, but they do it with pride to help save lives and makes our communities safer for everyone.

I was glad to join Colonel Robert Hodges, Superintendent of Louisana State Police, in congratulating and honoring this amazing group. We also heard a moving testimonial from Ms. Paula Zachary, who lost her son in a drunk driving incident.

Thank you so much to Sunny Wall of MADD Louisiana and Mississippi, and to the entire MADD team for volunteering your time and energy fighting for this important cause. To donate or volunteer with MADD, visit https://bit.ly/4xgODI1.

🏆 🎉 Congratulations to Louise Francis, winner of the the 2026 J. Willard Mariott Award of Excellence!

This award is Mariott International's highest honor, given to employees who go above and beyond in the hospitality field. Louise is a cook at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, and is beloved by guests from all over for her legendary signature dishes, and her passionate dedication to her work. Her warmth and care for her guests truly shines through in every interaction, and she is so deserving of this honor.

I was so proud to present Louise (a.k.a. Mama Louise) with a special proclamation yesterday naming her an Official Louisiana Ambassador! We are so blessed to have ambassadors like Louise to represent all the best that we have to offer as Louisianans. Thank you, and congratulations!
