At LDI, we hope it doesnโ€™t come to this. To protect your home and property as the seasonโ€™s first storm approaches, we urge you to take these three steps:
Review your homeowners and flood insurance policy deductibles and make sure you know how much money you will owe out of pocket if you need to file a claim.
Build an emergency kit and consider purchasing materials to board up your windows and make temporary repairs to your home in the event you take on damage.
Have copies of your insurance policies and your agentโ€™s contact information ready to go in case of an emergency evacuation.
๐—›๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ, if you still take on water and have damage, hereโ€™s what to do:
Have your policy number and an initial assessment of the damage.
๐Ÿ”บ ๐——๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜: Take photos of the damage before cleaning up. Donโ€™t throw away damaged items.
Your auto policyโ€™s comprehensive coverage should cover any damage to your vehicle.

As Tropical Storm Arthur approaches, our biggest threat remains flooding.

I urge all of Louisiana to stay off the roads and monitor road closures by visiting 511la.org.

Be sure to listen to local officials for up to date information and resources. Stay safe Louisiana!
