Make a difference in Louisiana communities!

The Louisiana Resiliency Corps is now recruiting AmeriCorps Volunteers for service opportunities across Louisiana. Volunteers will serve through LSU AgCenter Extension offices, research and education centers, and approved partner sites to help strengthen community resilience and disaster mitigation efforts.

Service opportunities may include:
• 4-H youth development and service-learning
• Agriculture and natural resources outreach
• Healthy homes and resilient housing
• Nutrition, food safety and community health
• Climate, weather and coastal resilience outreach
• Volunteer coordination and community engagement
• Educational materials, outreach campaigns and impact tracking

Service options include:
Minimum-Time Volunteer: 300 hours | Up to $3,000 living allowance + $1,565.08 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award

Quarter-Time Volunteer: 450 hours | Up to $5,000 living allowance + $1,956.35 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award

Volunteers may include high school students age 17+, college students, recent graduates, community volunteers, Extension and 4-H alumni, retirees and others interested in meaningful public service. Applicants must meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements.

For more than 50 years, Louisiana Sea Grant's Law & Policy Program has provided trusted, nonpartisan legal information that supports informed decision-making across Louisiana's coastal communities.

The National Sea Grant College Program recognized the program as a Best Management Practice for its long-standing service to state and local governments, coastal businesses and the public. The program also provides hands-on training for future environmental attorneys through its law student internship program.

The Coastal Science Assistantship Program (CSAP), supported by the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority, is now accepting applications for 2027 assistantships.

CSAP provides graduate stipends for up to three years to full-time Master of Science students enrolled at Louisiana colleges and universities. Selected students conduct research that supports Louisiana’s coastal protection and restoration efforts.

For the first time, Louisiana Sea Grant’s Ocean Commotion is heading to LSU AgCenter Burden Gardens on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and registration is now open!

Ocean Commotion brings K–8 students together for a day of hands-on learning and exploration focused on Louisiana’s coast, environment and natural resources.
