LSU Police Department The LSU Police Department is organized as a traditional police department. All commissioned officers receive training that exceeds state standards.

Officers are commissioned with statewide arrest authority, per Louisiana Revised Statute 17:1805. The first university police department to meet CALEA's International Gold Standard for Public Safety Agencies and to earn accreditation for Law Enforcement. Members of the LSU Police Department provide services 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays. The mission of the LSU Police Department e

xists to provide a secure and safe environment through professional law enforcement services that enhances the educational process. The department will support the university mission through delivery of high-quality services to the university and surrounding community.

As we kicked off football season in Death Valley last night, LSU Police and Deputies, Officers and Troopers across the state from multiples agencies were on hand to assist.

All Law Enforcement partners were present and on hand to help keep our students, faculty, staff, and visitors safe as they experienced game day.

Thanks to all of our partners for assisting us with making game day successful! As law enforcement personnel took care of business outside, LSU Football took care of business inside the stadium. Game 1 was electric‼️ Geaux Tigers 💜💛🐅

🚨 LSU POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN 13 VEHICLE BURGLARIES 🚨

LSU Police arrested a suspect in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries during routine patrols early this morning. The suspect, Jeron Andre Green, 30, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on 13 counts of La. R.S. 14:62 Simple Burglary.

During the investigation, officers determined that all of the vehicles involved had been left unlocked. LSU Police strongly encourage everyone to:

• Lock your vehicle every time you leave it; it's the best way to prevent theft.
• Take your keys with you.
• Do not leave valuables visible inside your vehicle.

Thats a wrap for Move-In Weekend 2026! Huge shoutout to LSU Residential Life and all other partners for working together to get over 7,000 moved into their dorms in 3 days! Welcome week starts tonight, so let’s have a safe and productive week‼️

🚨🚨Before the day is over, Attention LSU freshmen:

Today is the last day of the move-in day series. This is not only a difficult transition for you, but for your parents/guardians as well.

So when your Mom wants to decorate your room or make sure that you have all the food items that you need, let her help. When your Dad wants to introduce himself to your roommates or to the RAs, or tells an Officer to “keep an eye on my son/daughter this year”, let him.

You are starting a new journey of your life and they are also. So let them treat you like their “baby”, one last time.

Be patient with them, they ❤️ you more than you will ever know. To the Tiger families, we are here for you all when you can’t be! 💜💛🐅

The LSU Police Department is proud to offer monthly Equalizer Self-Defense classes this semester that are completely FREE!

This class is designed to give LSU female students the tools, confidence, and awareness to protect themselves while moving through campus and beyond. These hands on sessions focus on practical skills, personal safety, and building confidence. Each course is taught by LSU Police Department’s Certified Equalizer Instructors.
