Jaguar Nation, itโ€™s almost GAMEDAY! ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

The Southern University Police Department reminds everyone to enjoy the tailgating experience responsibly. Respect others, keep your area clean, follow parking and campus rules, and help us maintain a safe environment for students, alumni, fans, and guests.

โš ๏ธ NEW LOUISIANA LAW: Effective August 1, 2026, Act 305 increases penalties for ma*****na-related controlled-substance violations on or within 2,000 feet of school property. Louisiana law specifically includes public and private colleges and universities in its definition of a school. Violations involving ma*****na may result in up to one year imprisonment and a fine of up to $1,000.

Come to tailgate, have fun, and support the Jagsโ€”but know the rules.

The Southern University Police Department joins the entire Jaguar Nation in mourning the loss of beloved Southern University Baseball Coach Roger Cador.

Coach Cador was more than a legendary coach. He was a mentor, leader, father figure, and a true ambassador for Southern University. His impact reached far beyond the baseball field, touching generations of student-athletes, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members.

His legacy of excellence, discipline, service, and love for Southern University will forever remain a part of our campus and our history.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Cador family, Southern University Athletics, former players, friends, and all who were blessed to know and love Coach Cador.

Rest in peace, Coach Cador. Your legacy will live on forever in Jaguar Nation.

The Southern University Police Department is committed to building a stronger toolkit to better serve our students, faculty, staff, and community.

Through Crisis Intervention Training, our officers continue to sharpen their skills in communication, de-escalation, mental health awareness, and compassionate response. This training helps us meet people where they are, respond with care, and strengthen the trust between law enforcement and the community we serve.

Together, we are building safer spaces, stronger relationships, and a more prepared campus community.
