Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR) We provide individualized services, info & support to positively enhance the lives of the disabled.

Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge is a non-profit, family directed resource center for individuals with disabilities and their families. It is a place where families can go that is directed and staffed by parents or family members of children with disabilities or adults with disabilities. It is this common experience that gives Families Helping Families a very unique approach to ser

ving families. Families Helping Families staff can answer questions and provide technical assistance for any disability, any age. FHF of Greater Baton Rouge offers these three benefits:
- Information and Referral
- Education and Training
- Parent to Parent Support

Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in East Baton Rouge parish. We serve the following parishes: East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Point Coupee, Iberville and Ascension.

Passing grades have never been a shield against IDEA eligibility.

The law expressly states that a child can need special education and related services even while advancing from grade to grade. Schools do not get to hide behind report cards, lowered expectations, modified work, endless accommodations, limitless RTI or the infamous “he’s passing his classes” to avoid providing an IEP.

Today, we honor and celebrate Dr. Marilyn as she begins her well-deserved retirement from Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge.

Thank you, Dr. Marilyn, for your years of leadership, compassion, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to the families and communities we serve. Your impact has touched countless lives and helped strengthen our mission in so many meaningful ways.

We will always remember your famous words, “It is well,” and the peace and encouragement they brought to the staff throughout the years.
