Last week, the BREC Foundation board held its August meeting at the Baton Rouge Gallery - center for contemporary art. Joining the meeting was BREC Superintendent Corey Wilson who provided an update to the board on the many BREC activities and projects. Also joining the meeting was Jason Andreasen, the Gallery's Executive Director, who shared an update on the "And We Went: 60 Years After the Baton Rouge Swim-In" of which the BREC Foundation and BREC were sponsors.

ICYMI: The exhibit brought the history of the 1963 pivotal moment in local history into a contemporary conversation. The entire event is available, as are individual videos of individual segments from the program, on the BR Gallery's YouTube Channel: https://tinyurl.com/BRGalleryYouTube.

🏅We're still beaming over BREC's 2022 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management! This award is due, in large part, to the dedicated men and women who work so hard to preserve and maintain our beautiful park system.

BREC Foundation board members were proud to attend today's Rotary Club of Baton Rouge meeting featuring BREC Superintendent Corey Wilson.

Superintendent Wilson shared an update on BREC's activities and celebrated BREC's 2022 National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.

BREC Foundation was happy to help facilitate the resurfacing of the basketball courts at Longfellow Park!

This weekend, we were joined by Langston Galloway, a Christian Life Academy graduate. After growing up playing basketball on these very courts before moving on to the NBA, Galloway returned to dedicate this court to other young athletes in Baton Rouge.
