What a fantastic Board of Education meeting last night at Bath CSD.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Mike Mishook for his 15 years of dedicated service as a member of the Bath Central School District Board of Education. His commitment to our students, staff, and community has made a lasting impact.

We were also proud to recognize our Class of 2026 academic leaders, Valedictorian Carter Brown and Salutatorian Dylan Henshaw, for their outstanding achievements and dedication to excellence.

In addition, we celebrated our 2025-2026 Triple H Award winners.

Congratulations to all of our honorees, and thank you for making Bath CSD a place where excellence thrives.

On Wednesday, Haverling seniors Jenna Warner and Peyton Lathrop received the prestigious Sheriff Jack Lisi Youth Award. The award is presented to a maximum of eighteen winners, age 16 through 21, living in Steuben County OR a currently registered student in one of Steuben County School Districts.

This award program targets an often overlooked population and offers incentives to youth who have shown interest and ambition towards academic or employment goals. Award recipients are selected by partner special school committees to receive awards and incentives, dependent upon information expressed on the recommendation forms. These possible awards and incentives are:

Grant toward additional education
Financial Assistance to College
Financial Assistance for college books or other educational material
Financial Assistance for work-related materials

A non-cash award is given to award recipients to use towards their future plans. The Jack Lisi Youth Award Board wants its award recipients to be recognized for their hard work, and take away some of the burden of higher education or career costs. Since 2020, we are offering our largest award yet to help offset these costs and show our appreciation to the award recipients.

According to the late Angie Lisi, (Jack’s widow) “Jack had compassion, concern, and respect for youth who had problems which hindered their ability to achieve and he felt that often they were not given enough credit. Jack believed that what was needed was someone to care, show support, give assistance, and guidance in order for youngsters to become contributing members of society.”

More information about Sheriff Lisi's award can be found at https://www.lisiyouthaward.org/

JSYRC Summer Program – Quick Reference Guide

John Southard Youth Recreation Commission (JSYRC) Summer Program
A Completely Free Summer Experience for Local Youth

July 6th – August 13th

What is JSYRC?

NOTE – JSYRC is ONLY for kids who live within the town or village for Bath, ages 5-15 (if children turn 5 during the program, they may register AFTER their 5th birthday and begin participating, no exceptions).

The JSYRC Summer Program is a free, community-based summer program designed to give local youth a safe, structured, and engaging place to spend their summer. Operated through Catholic Charities of Steuben Livingston, JSYRC blends fun, physical activity, social connection, and real-world experiences into a memorable and meaningful summer.

This is not just a day camp - it’s a full summer experience that keeps kids active, connected, and positively engaged.

JSYRC runs every Monday-Thursday between noon and 2pm. Field trip day typically leave earlier in the day – around 9-9:30 am.

What Do Kids Do?

Every week is packed with a mix of field trips, outdoor adventures, and group activities, including:
• Trips to places like farms, nature centers, pools, and the Seneca Park Zoo
• Swimming, hiking, sports, and team-based games
• Creative activities like crafts, movies, and group challenges
• Fun experiences like water games, mini golf, and camp-style activities

Kids stay active all summer, averaging 5–7 hours of vigorous physical activity per week, plus additional daily movement.

Why It Matters

JSYRC is built to support whole-child development, not just fill time:
• Keeps kids active and healthy
• Builds friendships and social skills
• Provides safe, supervised summer structure
• Exposes youth to new experiences and environments
• Supports working families with a reliable, no-cost option

What Makes JSYRC Different?

• Completely FREE for families
• High-energy, experience-based programming
• Strong community partnerships across Steuben County
• Trusted organization through Catholic Charities
• Consistent supervision and structured days

Congratulations to our final monthly award winners at DLL!

This year, we began a new tradition of recognizing students each month for their outstanding achievements. Awards were presented to two Students of the Month for overall excellence, one student for citizenship, and one student for improvement. In addition to receiving their awards, recipients earned bonus RamPages to spend at our school store the following week.

We are excited to continue this tradition next year and celebrate the hard work, growth, and positive contributions of our students. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you!

Abby and June recently returned for another pizza party to celebrate our 4th and 5th grade students who completed the most i Ready lessons during the month of May.

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Abby’s Paws for a Cause and the positive impact they continue to have on our students. Their support and encouragement help make learning even more rewarding, and we look forward to seeing how many more students Abby and June will inspire in the years ahead.
