Great turnout for the Brum Woods volunteer work day. Sorry I didn’t get pictures of everyone, but 10 great volunteers gave their time including some BHS CC team members. Trail 2 trimmed and road grindings hauled to low spots, road grinding spread on trail A entrance on 229/ Mulberry St and the new bridge almost covered with chicken wire(until they ran out)so it is not slippery when wet. Very productive morning, and thank you all very much.

We would like to offer our condolences to Jim's family. Jim was a friend of the parks, great guy and will be missed. Jim walked religiously in Lena's Loop, Liberty Park, St Louis Cemetery, and the YMCA trail. I think he did more talking than walking, but that was Jim. We will miss our lunches together, his suggestions and even his complaints. RIP

Had an incident that turned out positive in my opinion. There was what some call expressing themselves with spray paint, I call vandalism and graffiti that happened recently. The cameras did their job and the person was caught. This person and parents took full responsibility for what was a lack of good judgement and wanted to make it right. The graffiti was already taken care of, but the person(with a parent) worked a day doing other work in the parks. The person and parent apologized, made the wrong a right and the person even wrote a handwritten note of apology. This doesn't happen a lot, and I could be wrong, but feel very strongly the person learned their lesson, made it right, and won't do it again. Great police work, parenting and lesson learned.

Hope to see you tomorrow!
