Yesterdays Calls
Structure Fires - 2
Grass Fires - 3
Service Call - 1
The first of the day was a large grass fire on Walter D Rd that spread, damaged a car and some other property at a neighboring house, but was brought under control before reaching the house.
The second was dispatched while still on that fire and was for a person stuck on the roof of a house. We split units off the fire to handle the other call. The units got the individual down safely.
The third and fourth calls were also small grass fires in different parts of the district.
At approximately 4:54 PM the fifth call of a structure fire was dispatched at the intersection of Bobby Ln and Clint St. Units arrived on scene and advised that there was heavy smoke showing with no cars in the driveway and appeared to be a vacant house. Firefighters then made the initial fire attack on the attic fire and had it under control in 6 minutes of arriving on scene. Crews then started overhaul to try to locate any additional hot spots.
At approximately 5:41 PM while still on the scene of the first structure fire, the sixth call was dispatched for a structure fire at a abandon building in Salado next to our station. Available units left the first structure fire and responded to that fire and had it under control in a very timely manner with minimal damage to the building.
Lucky no injuries were reported at any of the fires
Neither of the structures will be considered a total loss
Thank you to all of our firefighters for the quick work that you have done to save so much property.
