Batesville School District AT BATESVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT (BSD) our mission is to "Empower Today's Students for Tomorrow's Challenges". We are Pioneer Nation!

The Batesville School District is made up of seven great schools that offer personalized learning plans for every child. The Pioneer Nation begins with Preschool, which offers infant and toddler care. There are three elementary schools to choose from: Eagle Mountain, Sulphur Rock, & West; Batesv

ille Junior High School Charter, and Batesville High School Charter. White River Academy is our alternative learning environment for grades 6-12 non-traditional students. BSD offers co-curricular and extracurricular activities that suit the personal interests and strengths of individual students. Our district offers a complete fine arts program, K-12. We also offer competitive sports in grades 3-12 and many intramural participation opportunities. Through these activities, students will learn leadership, work ethic, citizenship, and teamwork. Last week, our district librarians attended the Arkansas Association of Instructional Media (AAIM) Conference, the state's premier professional organization for school librarians. The conference provides valuable professional learning opportunities focused on curriculum integration, emerging technologies, library resources, and best practices for supporting student success.

Two of our librarians were selected to present at this year's conference:

Mrs. Webb, West Elementary — "Plugging Digital Citizenship into Storytime"

Mrs. Grant, Sulphur Rock Elementary — "From Checkout to Championship: Building a Schoolwide Reading Culture"

Both librarians shared their expertise and experiences with colleagues from across Arkansas. We are proud to have them represent Batesville School District and make a positive impact on students and school libraries statewide!

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SIGN UP FOR FREE SUMMER MEALS!

Children ages 0–18 can receive free meal bags this summer, regardless of which school district they attend.

This week's meal packs include two cereals, cereal bars, mini waffles, five juices, three apples, two oranges, a cheese stick, pizza, a chicken patty sandwich, a hamburger on a bun, chicken nuggets, a corn dog, corn, carrots, broccoli, green beans, fries, five white milks, and five chocolate milks.

Meal contents may vary from week to week based on product availability, but every package includes a variety of nutritious breakfast and lunch items.

Each stop will feature engaging activities, resources, and opportunities for families and students to connect with the Community Schools team.

Every Tuesday this summer, our Batesville School District Food Service team, in partnership with OPAA!, is helping ensure children in our community have access to nutritious meals — because supporting students doesn’t stop when school is out.

This week alone, the team packed more than 700 meal bags filled with a variety of nutritious items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, and other meal essentials to help support children and families throughout the summer.

It’s not too late to sign up for FREE summer meal pick-up for children ages newborn–18 years old, including children outside of Batesville School District.

The Batesville School District and the Pioneer Park Steering Committee invite the community to attend the groundbreaking of the Pioneer Park Veterans Memorial.

The Pioneer Park Veterans Memorial is being created to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans throughout the Pioneer community, including multiple of our Pioneer family who gave their lives in military service since World War I.

This privately funded project will serve as a lasting tribute to veterans and families connected to Pioneer Nation.

Community members, veterans, students, staff, alumni, and supporters are invited to attend.
