What is QPR?
QPR is an evidence-based educational program designed to teach everyday citizens how to recognize the warning signs of a su***de crisis and how to respond effectively. You will learn how to:

Question the person about su***de

Persuade them to get help

Refer them to the right local resources

Why get trained?
Be the Difference: Su***de is preventable. By learning to recognize the subtle warning signs, you can step in before it's too late.

Reduce the Stigma: Open, honest conversations break down barriers and let those who are struggling know they aren't alone.

Build Confidence: You don't have to be a licensed therapist to help. This training gives you a concrete, 3-step action plan and a chance to practice these vital skills in a supportive environment.

We had an incredible time at our recent Adult Mental Health First Aid training at the Dearborn County CARE Resource Connection! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us around the table to learn how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.

Through meaningful conversations, we dove deep into:

The 5-step ALGEE action plan to support someone in need.

💚 De-escalation strategies and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health.

🧠 Scenarios and real-world practice to build confidence.

💚 Crucial resources like the 988 Lifeline, self-care practices, and local support networks, such as recovery housing.

We are so grateful for your engagement, passion, and dedication to building a safer, more supportive, and stigma-free community! Youth Mental Health First Aid Training (No-Cost)
Just as CPR helps you assist someone having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to support a young person experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge, or a crisis.

If you are an adult who interacts with youth ages 12–18—whether you are a parent, teacher, coach, first responder, or a caring neighbor—this training is for you!
