The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating an overturned 18-wheeler on I-55 near the 220-mile marker in Yalobusha County. The southbound lanes remain closed at this time. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area or consider an alternate route while emergency crews work to clear the scene.

⚠️ Traffic Alert: Use caution on MS-7 near MS-310 in Marshall County. There are several vehicles parked on the shoulder due to a Trail Ride. Please slow down and be alert while Troopers work to keep the roadway clear.

If you are on Interstate-55 north of Batesville or on Interstate-22 north of Lake Center, please turn around immediately. Road crews are currently working to remove stranded vehicles from the interstate. These roadways are in extremely dangerous condition. Additionally, other state highways and county roads may also present similar conditions. Please only travel in North Mississippi if necessary and use extreme caution.

‼️Roadway Update‼️

☀️The sun is out which means more traffic. Troopers are out assisting motorists that are having trouble traveling on Interstates ( I-55, I-269 and I-22) and other major highways.

Panola County: I-55 northbound is at a stand still from the Como exit near mile-marker (257) to the Pope exit near mile-marker (237) due to several 18-wheelers getting stuck.

Marshal County: I-22 eastbound near mile-marker (30) and I-269 near exit (16) has several vehicles and 18-wheelers getting stuck as well. Still lots of ice on the roadways and we are urging all motorists to stay off the roadways so crews can clear the roads.

The eastbound lanes remain closed at this time. Motorists are urged to use caution in the area or consider an alternate route while emergency crews work to clear the scene.
