We're a few sessions into something really important. This spring, CASA for Clermont Kids launched a seven-part human trafficking training series led by Khalila Riga, a survivor, advocate, keynote speaker, and one of the most knowledgeable voices in this field.

Our volunteers have already completed the first two sessions: Foundations of Human Trafficking and Familial Human Trafficking and Out-of-Home Care, with more sessions continuing soon.

Khalila brings something to this training that no textbook can, which is lived experience woven into deep professional expertise. She currently serves on the Ohio Attorney General's Ambassador Advisory Council, as a board member for Sidewalk Soldiers, and as an advocate with Empty Frames Initiative, among many other roles. Her passion for educating communities and helping others find freedom from exploitation is evident in every session.

With funding through the Clermont County Mental Health & Recovery Board, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services is offering FREE summer camp for any school-aged children that are looking for summer fun! Our summer camps are designed for school-aged children and provide a fun, safe, and engaging environment throughout the summer.

During camp, students participate in a variety of activities including games, crafts, team-building activities, and snacks. They build points for them to win prizes that the end of each week for participation, teamwork, and communication skills. No registration is required.

CASA for Clermont Kids is marking Foster Care Awareness Month, where we recognize children and young people - plus those who walk alongside them like CASA volunteers and foster families. Happy Mother's Day to every woman who has shown up for a child who needed her.

To the moms, the foster moms, the grandmas who stepped back in, and the aunts who said yes without hesitation, your love is doing something real in the world, even when it's hard and even when it seems like it goes unnoticed. We are still smiling from CASA DAY! Thank you to all who came out and celebrated our 25th anniversary as a non-profit and all the great work our CASA volunteers have been doing for the last quarter century. Because of you:
💙 Our program has the largest bank of volunteers it has ever had in the programs history.
❤️ Over 80% of new cases of child abuse and neglect were appointed a CASA volunteer last year.
🤍 Over 90% of closed children last year had the same CASA volunteer throughout their time in care.
💙 Children received more child-specific recommendations in the court room-relating to their safety, stability and permanency

Today was officially CASA Day in Clermont County! 🎉

Our 25th anniversary was absolutely extraordinary. We are incredibly honored and grateful to have shared this special proclamation and celebration with our dedicated CASA volunteers, collaborative service providers, community stakeholders, and many of our elected officials. Representatives from Offices of the Ohio Senate, Senator Jon Husted, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Congressman Congressman Dave Taylor, Ohio State Representative Jean Schmidt, Ohio Treasurer Officer, and Clermont County, Ohio - Government Commissioners joined to share meaningful proclamations in honor of a quarter century of service. Your continued support and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of children who need a voice. Today was a reminder of the power of coming together as a community to advocate for and uplift Clermont County’s children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
