Your Central Joint Fire-EMS District personnel recently took part in training at Mercy Hospital Clermont on the dangers MRI machines pose to first responders.

These powerful magnets can turn everyday tools into deadly projectiles, so knowing how to respond safely is critical.

Lunch was provided on Veterans Day for the crews at both stations by the Lexington Run Home Owners Association. They said "we wanted to show our appreciation for the service of the District". Thank you very much for providing subs, drinks, snacks, homemade cookies, and pictures colored by the kids.

Last Saturday, our neighborhood Tractor Supply celebrated National Howtown Heroes Day with a small Touch-a-Truck event. CJFED and the Clermont County Sheriff's Department were honored as the recipients of a $500 donation supporting local fire and police.

At the last Board meeting, Board Chair Jennifer Haley recognized Marcus Jacobs for his commitment to serve our country and join the US Army. He was presented with a thank-you plaque on behalf of the District and Fire Board.

Several members of Central Joint Fire - EMS District along with personnel from Goshen Township Fire and Maderia Indian Hill worked with trainers from Citizens First Fire Training on extrication today. We want to thank Tarvin’s Auto Service and Gray's towing for providing the cars. A special thank you to Citizens First Fire Training for providing an excellent training opportunity.

Last week, Central Joint Fire – EMS District was happy to host Instructors from Rescue Methods and BGSU for our annual Swiftwater Operations class. The class focuses on skills and tactics used to rescue victims from water emergencies on both static and rapidly moving water. These types of emergencies are extremely dangerous for victims and rescuers. The team practiced defensive swimming, boat and land based rescue operations. We have hosted this class annually for several years and open the opportunity to other area departments. This year it was attended by eight personnel from CJFED, 2 from Anderson Twp. Fire Department and 2 from Pierce Twp. Fire Department. We want to thank all the participants as well as the Instructors who devoted their week to work with us.

For the last 3 days FF/Medic Gebauer and Lt. Shouse participated in Clermont Future Forward at Batavia High School. They loved interacting with the students on possible career paths.
