Richmond Memorial Library's Library Visits Program is seeking a few volunteers to help deliver library materials and services to older adults in East Bethany, Batavia, and Elba, NY. Next week for Books Sandwiched In, we continue the Fall Series of Important Women in American History with "A Midwife's Tale: The Life of Martha Ballard, Based on Her Diary, 1785-1812" by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich. Sara Kohl will review this biography of a wildly successful midwife in early America.

Program begins at 12:10pm on Wednesday, September 9th. Door prize and refreshments graciously provided by the Friends of Richmond Memorial Library.

You do not have to have read the book to participate.

It's book sale week! This week we have a Friends of the Library Members Only Preview Sale on Wednesday, September 2 from 5 pm - 7 pm and the regular sale on Thursday, September 3 from 9 am - 7 pm. New members are always welcome and can join at the door or anytime the library is open! The sale accepts cash or check, prices range from 10 cents to 5 dollars, unless otherwise marked. A big thank you to our fabulous team of volunteers who work hard to make this sale happen each month!

New resource alert! The RML has added a pass to the Herschell Carrousel Museum to our collection! This pass may be checked out for one week and includes admission for two adults and four children. The museum is open April through December, Wednesday to Sunday. For more info, visit https://www.carrouselmuseum.org/

Lost your library card? Is your so beat up you can barely read it? If you're in need of a replacement card but don't have that pesky $1 cash on you, don't worry! For the month of September, the Richmond Memorial Library will be issuing free replacement cards. Just be sure you have your valid photo ID and proof of current address when you come in.

We are excited to announce our Fall 2026 Series for Books Sandwiched In! Beginning next Wednesday, September 2nd we will be celebrating Important Women in American History throughout the month. Richmond's very own Samantha Stryker will open the program with a review of "We the Women: The Hidden Heroes Who Shaped America" by Norah O'Donnell at 12:10pm in the Gallery Room.

Door prize and refreshments graciously provided by the Friends of Richmond Memorial Library.
