Creamery Road Closure Notice

A portion of Creamery Road in the Town of Bergen will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning the week of June 22, 2026.

Drivers coming from the west, near West Sweden Road, will only be able to travel as far east as house #7922.

Drivers coming from the east, near North Lake Road/Route 19, will only be able to travel as far west as house #7933.

Drivers should plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes during the project.

All timeframes are estimates and may change due to weather or unexpected site conditions.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2026 Genesee County “I Voted” Sticker Contest!

Local students submitted creative designs celebrating voting, civic pride, and community involvement. Ruby the Turtle has lived at the Interpretive Nature Center inside the Genesee County Park and Forest since 2013, becoming a favorite for students, families, and park visitors.

Now, Ruby has a new indoor habitat with more space, a larger tank, and an enhanced filtration system to help keep her home clean and healthy!

Genesee County Parks, Recreation & Forestry and the Genesee County Acorns invite the community to celebrate Ruby’s new habitat on Friday, June 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Interpretive Nature Center.

The celebration will include an open house, family-friendly activities, and a chance to see this exciting update made possible by community members, local businesses, volunteers, and supporters.

💜 Today, the Genesee County Office for the Aging staff proudly wore purple in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD).

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, observed annually on June 15th, shines a light on the often hidden issue of elder abuse and reminds us all of the important role we play in protecting vulnerable older adults.

Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, and neglect. By increasing awareness, checking in on older loved ones and neighbors, and knowing where to turn for help, we can work together to prevent abuse and support healthy aging in our community.

If you suspect elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation, trust your instincts. Speak up. You do not need to have all the answers—you just need to make the call.
