Check out Ms. Mimms’ 6th grade RLA classes as they read Boy by Roald Dahl! 📚🐭

Students brought the story to life by working through plot elements at interactive stations. They were definitely putting the “plot” in The Great Mouse Plot! 🐭✨

From exposition to resolution, these readers were busy uncovering how each piece of the plot fits together. What a mouse-terpiece of learning! 📖👏

🗓️Mark your calendars! 🗓️

On September 1st and 2nd , students will be taking their beginning of the year NWEA MAP Reading and Math Test!

NWEA MAP assessments are used to measure each student’s progress or growth in school! MAP tests are important to teachers, students, and parents because it keeps track of progress and growth. We will be using this information to help guide instruction and continue to improve teaching and learning to help each student grow as much as they can! ✏️

* It is very important that your child attends school and arrives on time on this day unless they are sick or there is a family emergency. We want to set them up for success and make sure that they have time to eat breakfast, get to their testing location and hear the test directions with the rest of their peers. We also ask that students bring their laptops-charged and bring a book to read when they have completed their test.*

💧 Making a Splash in 8th Grade Science! 🔬

Our 8th grade scientists explored the unique properties of water this week through hands-on investigations! Students put cohesion, adhesion, and surface tension to the test using pennies, paper clips, droppers, and plenty of curiosity.
