Bastrop ISD and Sames Auto Group Kick Off Fifth Annual Perfect Attendance Car Giveaway 🚙🎉
(BASTROP, TX) Bastrop ISD kicked off the fifth year of its Drive Sames 4 Education perfect attendance partnership with Sames Bastrop CDJR and Roscoe Bank/Cornerstone Capital Bank Bastrop. The program rewards one dedicated high school student with a brand-new vehicle at the end of the school year.
The kickoff event at Bastrop Sames CDJR brought together students, staff, sponsors, and community leaders to unveil this year’s prize — a 2027 Jeep Wrangler. The program encourages students to stay committed to their education by recognizing the importance of attending school every day.
The celebration featured performances by the Bastrop High School drumline and cheerleaders, as well as the Cedar Creek High School dance and cheer teams. The district’s three high school mascots — Talon, Bobby and Bubo — also made appearances.
School Board Trustee Josh Coy, Superintendent Dr. Kristi Lee, principals Krystal Gabriel and Martin Conrardy, Associate Principal Dr. April Chatmon, and local business partners joined students and staff for the event.
“You get six opportunities to be perfect. Please try hard, not simply so you can win a vehicle, but come because you are so important to the school community,” said Lee. “You can see the atmosphere that you’re creating here in your enthusiasm and your spirit. Your teachers need to see you; they need to see your effort, and your faces because they care so much about you. They want you to have an amazing school year and an amazing life, and that’s built one school day at a time.”
Representing Sames Auto Group, Steven David, General Manager of Sames Bastrop Ford and Sames Bastrop CDJR, spoke about the excitement the program creates on campuses and its history.
“This program began 14 years ago in Laredo, Texas. We’ve given away 43 cars total, and watching the excitement when we come to those schools - the energy level is wow!” said David.
Roscoe/Cornerstone Capital Bank Bastrop provides financial assistance for tax, title, and license, making the vehicle totally free for the winning student.
“I just want to give a huge thank you for the dedication to education in Bastrop ISD. Thank you, SAMES. Thank you, Roscoe/Cornerstone Capital Bank, for showing students that you care,” said Krystal Gabriel, Principal of Bastrop High School.
Last year’s winner, Jose “Marvin” Reyes Sarimiento, knows firsthand what the opportunity can mean for a student.
“Winning this car was a big blessing to me,” he said.
We can’t wait to see who will be this year’s Sames Drive 4 Education attendance initiative winner.
With a new school year underway, Bastrop ISD and its community partners are looking forward to seeing which student will earn the 2027 Jeep Wrangler by making attendance a priority all year long.
