A little anticlimactic—had a cartridge malfunction during training, and one probe hit sideways, so it didn’t make a solid connection. Don’t worry, I still got a pretty good shock… just not for very long.

It’s a good reminder that while technology is an important tool in law enforcement, it doesn’t always perform perfectly—even in a controlled training environment. Add in real-world stress, emotions, and unpredictable factors, and it reinforces why proper training and judgment matter just as much as the equipment.

Big thank you to the Brown County, NE Sheriff's Office for providing the equipment and supplying the instructor and Otoe County Sheriff's Office for donating their old equipment making all of this even possible at very little cost to Rock County Taxpayers.

⚡️ Training Day at the Sheriff’s Office ⚡️

Today, our deputies participated in Taser certification training to ensure they’re fully prepared to use this tool safely and effectively in the field.

As part of the process, a few of our officers volunteered to experience the Taser themselves. This helps them better understand its effects and reinforces proper usage, accountability, and respect for the equipment.
