Chamber Post: Rest In Peace, Warren, NJ:
(WARREN, NJ) Raymond B. Di Giambattista, 94, died peacefully at his home in Warren, New Jersey, on June 2, 2026, with his family by his side.
Born on November 1, 1931, in Union City, New Jersey, Ray was the son of the late Filomena (Trabassi) and Amedeo Di Giambattista. He moved to Warren in 1938 and remained a lifelong resident of the community he loved.
Ray graduated from North Plainfield High School and began working in his family's business, Associated Anvil Iron Works in Warren. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. Upon returning home, Ray worked alongside his father, Amedeo, and brother-in-law, Albert De Sandolo, helping build a respected ironworks company specializing in wrought-iron railings and gates. He later expanded the business into structural steel fabrication and took great pride in mentoring his son, Matt, who now owns and operates the company.
A proud veteran, Ray was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Berkeley Heights and the American Legion posts in Stirling and Warren. In recognition of his military service and dedication to the community, he was honored as Grand Marshal of the Berkeley Heights Memorial Day Parade in 2014.
Ray was an avid sports fan, especially for the New York Yankees. He enjoyed following baseball legends such as Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra and was known for his quick wit, warm personality, and wonderful sense of humor. Above all, Ray cherished time with his family and pets. He especially enjoyed driving to visit his grandchildren and surprising them with their favorite treats.
He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria De Sandolo.
Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Shirley Ann (Jerolaman) Di Giambattista; his sons, James A. Di Giambattista and Matt R. Di Giambattista and his wife, Colleen; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma and Charlie Di Giambattista.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, New Jersey.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
