Today, we celebrate the Stars and Stripes and the ideals it represents - freedom, unity, and democracy.

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the first official American flag, beginning a tradition that continues to inspire generations of Americans. As we honor our nationโ€™s flag, take a moment to reflect on the values it symbolizes and the principles that unite us as a nation.

Happy Flag Day!

We were honored to attend the recent Polk County Public Schools School Board meeting to recognize the outstanding achievements of students and schools that participated in our 2025โ€“2026 High School Voter Registration Outreach!

Congratulations to our winning schools:

Lake Region High School โ€“ Most Total Voter Registration Transactions

Fort Meade Middle Senior High School โ€“ Highest Percentage of Eligible Students Registered

These schools demonstrated an incredible commitment to civic engagement and helping students take their first step toward becoming active participants in our democracy.

We were also proud to share that the Polk County Supervisor of Elections office received a national Clearie Award from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) in the category of Distinguished Voter Education and Communications Initiatives for our High School Voter Registration Outreach. Through innovative outreach, student-focused education, and strong partnerships with our schools, the program achieved a 151% increase in voter registration transactions while reaching more students than ever before.

Thank you to Polk County Public Schools, school administrators, teachers, and students for partnering with us to inspire the next generation of voters. Together, weโ€™re building a stronger future through civic engagement!

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and the freedoms we cherish.

One of the many ways we can honor their sacrifice is by participating in our democracy - staying informed, serving our communities, and making our voices heard through voting. Civic participation helps preserve the freedoms so many fought to protect.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.
