Jean O"Dell Learning Center had two very nice recognitions yesterday! First, the school was again awarded GOLD Level recognition for PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies) implementation for the 2025-2026 school year, our 2nd consecutive year of Gold level recognition for our efforts at Shining!
And our Principal, April Sumner was announced as the Principal of the Year for our Region of the county!
Jean O'Dell continues to SHINE! Congratulations everyone!

Jean O'Dell parents/guardians: Join us for this year's open house on September 15th starting at 5:30 pm.
Parents/guardians and students will be able to enjoy a spaghetti dinner and visit your child's classroom. We will also have resources for families including a representative from Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and an attorney to ask questions related to guardianship.

Please check your student's agenda and complete and return the RSVP form. We hope to see you there!

Our middle school students are bringing the book Holes to life! Mrs. Lecaroz’s class explored the story through an onion and peaches art project, while Mrs. Stinson’s class made their own “gold” similar to Stanley’s discovery at Camp Green Lake. We love seeing our students dive into reading with creativity and hands on learning. Thank you to our teachers for making reading come alive and make connections to the story in such meaningful ways.

Today was an exciting day for our transition students as they began their first day on the job at Marco’s Pizza! 🍕
We are so proud of their hard work, confidence, and willingness to learn as they gain valuable real-world job skills in the community. A special shout out to the amazing staff at Marco’s Pizza for being so supportive, patient, and welcoming to our students. Your kindness and encouragement help make experiences like this meaningful and successful.
We are grateful for community partners who believe in our students and help them shine! 🌟
