Our National Park Rangers will be here Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10-12 P.M. to read "Follow the Drinking Gourd", an Underground Railroad story. They will teach kids and families how to use the stars to navigate at night, just like Harriet Tubman did! Ranger Quinn is bringing his banjo so we can learn the song "Follow the Drinking Gourd". Don't miss this fun filled adventure!

Don't miss the upcoming Reading with a Ranger sessions!

Join Park Rangers and local library staff this summer for engaging story times that bring history, nature, and culture to life! Each session includes a themed story and a fun, hands-on activity exploring topics such as the Underground Railroad, African American history, National Parks, and more.

Programs are free, no registration is required, and families are welcome to attend as many sessions as they'd like. While activities are geared toward elementary-aged children, all children are invited to participate.

Saturday Story Time Schedule:
August 1st * September 5th

Barry Public Library
10:00am & 11:00am

Pittsfield Public Library
1:00pm & 2:00pm

Each program lasts approximately 20–30 minutes.

Applications for the position of library assistant at the Barry Public Library must be turned in by Monday, July 20th, 2026. Application forms are available at the library during regular library hours.
