In honor of Patriot Day and the National Day of Service and Remembrance, flags will be flown at half-staff today as we remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the victims, survivors, first responders and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

Today, we reflect on the courage, resilience and unity our nation demonstrated in the aftermath of tragedy. May we never forget the significance of this day or the sacrifices made by so many.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Village Trustee Todd Sholeen, Village Manager Scott Anderson, Village staff, the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) and community members celebrated the grand opening of Maiden Salon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the chamber.

Located at 104 S. Cook St. in downtown, Maiden Salon was founded on the belief that great hair can be the start of something new: a refreshed look, renewed confidence or simply feeling like your best self. Their specialties include haircut and styling, custom color, blonding services, gloss and toner, smoothing treatments, and hand-tied extensions.

For more information about the salon and its services, visit maidensalon.com.

BOCADO Tapas Opening in Downtown Barrington This Fall 🍽️

The Village is excited to share the news that celebrity chef, restaurateur and Barrington-area resident Fabio Viviani is opening his latest restaurant concept, BACADO Tapas, in downtown Barrington this fall!

Located at 133 Park Ave., BOCADO will center on shareable plates, bold yet approachable flavors and a thoughtfully crafted beverage program, all within a warm, energetic atmosphere designed for everything from weeknight dinners to cocktails and late-night gatherings.

Looking ahead, BOCADO is only the first phase of Viviani’s plans for Barrington. Phase two will introduce a second concept, Retoro, located downstairs in the same building.

Retoro will feature an intimate, chef-led Japanese dining experience centered on the tradition of omakase, a dining style in which guests entrust the chef with selecting and presenting the evening’s dishes.

For more information, visit BocadoTapas.com or RetoroOmakase.com and follow along on Instagram at .Tapas and .

We’re pleased to welcome these new restaurants to downtown Barrington and look forward to seeing them add even more energy, flavor and excitement to our community!

The Village will continue to share updates on these and other developments on our social media channels and website at barrington-il.gov/development-updates.
