BACK TO SCHOOL, BARRINGTON

While many of our neighboring towns have already headed back to school, Barrington students return tomorrow, September 8!

As everyone gets back into the school-year routine, please allow extra time during your morning and afternoon commutes. Watch for children walking and biking to school, school buses making frequent stops, and increased traffic throughout town.

CONSTRUCTION REMINDER:
Construction in the area of Austin Avenue and 3rd Avenue is continuing. School buses will be permitted to cross 3rd Avenue during construction.

Please be patient, follow all posted signs and directions, and use extra caution around the construction area, school zones, bus stops, and throughout Barrington.

Slow down. Stay alert. Drive carefully.

The Barrington Police Department wishes all of our students, families, teachers, and staff a safe and successful school year!

Happy Labor Day!

🚨 BARRINGTON PD SCAM ALERT 🚨

The Barrington Police Department would like to warn residents about a recent phone scam targeting our community.
Scammers are impersonating well-known companies such as Verizon, PNC Bank and TD Bank, claiming there is a problem with your account and requesting personal or financial information.
⚠️ Don't be fooled! These scammers have gone as far as:
• Creating a fake company websites.
• Spoofing Caller ID to make it appear the call is coming from BPD headquarters or from your bank itself, even though it is from a different number.
Protect yourself by following these tips:
✅ Never provide personal, banking, or account information to someone who calls you unexpectedly.
✅ If something doesn't seem right, hang up immediately.
✅ Contact the company directly using the phone number listed on your statement, bank card, or the company's official website—not the number that called you.
✅ Remember, Caller ID can be spoofed and should not be trusted as proof of who is calling.

2 days in the books!

Day 1 was orientation and introduction day. Recruits arrived and received their shirts and hats. They had their first drill and ceremony and physical training day.

Day 2 was the start of demos from our Law Enforcement partners. The morning started with a demo from the Camden County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad. In the afternoon our own Sgt Hovern and K9 Obie showed their teamwork and skills in locating illicit substances and people.

More to come the rest of the week.

Our partners at the Haddonfield Police Dept. are deploying their sign board to alert drivers of the upcoming changes. Please adhere to the changes to avoid any traffic issues.
