🇺🇸 Sharing the Spirit of America: Declaration of Independence Reading 🇺🇸

Join us on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 6:00 PM EST for a community-wide reading of the Declaration of Independence, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.

On this historic day, communities across the nation will gather at the same time to read the words that helped define our country—just as they were first publicly shared in 1776. This nationwide observance invites Americans to reflect on the enduring ideals of liberty, equality, and self-government.

In Barnesville, this special event will take place at Veterans Plaza. In the event of inclement weather, the reading will be moved indoors to the Municipal Building Council Chambers.

This event is free and open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.

This program is being presented as part of the national America 250 initiative and is proudly supported locally by the Barnesville America250-Ohio Committee, the Village of Barnesville, and the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

We invite the community to take part in this meaningful moment of reflection and unity as we join together with communities across the nation in reading the words that shaped our democracy.

🇺🇸🎉 Get ready to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary at the Barnesville Freedom Parade on Sunday, July 5, 2026!

We've made some exciting updates to this year's parade:

⭐ NEW PARADE TIME! The parade will now begin at 2:00 PM.

⭐ Lineup starts at 1:30 PM at the Barnesville Depot.

⭐ NEW ROUTE! The parade will start and end at the Depot, traveling through downtown Barnesville before returning to the starting location.

⭐ FREE refreshments after the parade sponsored by Main Street Barnesville!

⭐ CASH PRIZES for Best Decorated entries (Ages 12 & Under) with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place, sponsored by Main Street Barnesville!

Everyone is invited to participate—no registration required! Decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, golf carts, strollers, or parade entries in red, white, and blue and show off your patriotic spirit as we celebrate this historic milestone together.

Bring your family, gather your friends, fly your flags, and help us make this one of the most memorable community celebrations of the summer!
