Barnegat Lighthouse State Park will close to all visitors beginning 6 p.m. today, Oct. 11, due to an approaching storm system expected to bring extreme high tides, coastal flooding and strong winds to the region.
The park will remain closed Sunday, Oct. 12. Conditions will be evaluated Monday, Oct. 13, to determine reopening. Please continue to check this page for updates.
PARK ADVISORY: Select New Jersey state parks and forests will close to all visitors beginning later today, Oct. 11, due to an approaching storm system expected to bring extreme high tides, coastal flooding and strong winds to the region.
The following parks are affected:
🌊 Island Beach State Park – closing at 6 p.m.
💡 Barnegat Lighthouse State Park – closing at 6 p.m.
🌳 Cape May Point State Park – closing at 4 p.m.
🌿 Corson’s Inlet State Park – closing at 4 p.m.
🌲 Crowley’s Landing (Wharton State Forest) – closing at 4 p.m.
🍁 Fort Mott State Park – closing at 4 p.m.
🌊 North Brigantine Natural Area – closing at 4 p.m.
🌿 Strathmere Natural Area – closing at 4 p.m.
