SECOND PUBLIC NOTICE

The Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office is accepting SEALED bids for the purchase of a full-size pursuit rated police package SUV. The estimate shall include price and warranty information of a new 2025 or 2026 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV 4WD Pursuit Rated Vehicle. Black or Silver in color, 5.3L EcoTec 3 V8, 10 speed transmission.
Envelope must be marked as “SEALED BID”. Bids will be accepted through June 9th, 2026, at 8:15a.m. at the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office. Please mail SEALED BIDS to PO Box 487 Bardwell Ky 42023 or deliver to 985 US HWY 62 Bardwell Ky 42023 between the hours of 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. The bids will be opened during the regularly scheduled fiscal court meeting at approximately 8:30 a.m. on June 9th, 2026. The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

On May 12th, 2026, the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Post Office in Bardwell for a female that walked in and requested the employees contact law enforcement to report that she had been sexually assaulted. Law enforcement arrived at the Post Office and met with Courtney Link. Link was transported to the Sheriff's Office where she was interviewed by Chief Deputy Ben Green. During the interview Link described a sexual assault that occurred the previous day at her residence in Bardwell. Link also agreed to allow Chief Deputy Green to inspect her phone. While inspecting the contents of the phone, Chief Deputy Green located deleted text messages that contradicted Links statement to law enforcement. Link was read her Miranda rights and later confessed that she fabricated the story about being sexually assaulted out of anger, due to an impending eviction from her residence. Link was placed under arrest for Falsley Reporting an Incident to Law Enforcement (Misdemeanor) and Tampering with Physical Evidence. (Class D Felony) Link was transported to the Ballard County Jail.

Today the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office received a letter from Chief Eusebio Talamantez of the Panama City Beach Police Dept. The letter was to thank the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office for our assistance in a joint investigation that led to the arrest of a man living in Bardwell Kentucky.

They commended the work of our Sheriff's Office in assisting them in their investigation, that led to arrest warrants being obtained and quick apprehension of the suspect.

For reference, a press release on the above-mentioned case was posted on our page on April 22nd 2026.

The Carlisle County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for full-time and part-time deputy sheriffs’ positions.

Part-time positions will only be available to applicants who currently hold a KY Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) certification, or have previously held certification and could be reinstated, or would qualify to obtain POPS certification through reciprocity. If you have questions about reciprocity, or other out of state certification transfers please contact the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council (KLEC).

Requirements to become a Carlisle County Sheriff's Deputy are listed below. Previous law enforcement experience is always a plus. It is also required that candidates possess a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and a true desire to be a public servant. A thorough and stringent background investigation will always be a part of any inquiry into someone's suitability and eligibility for becoming a Carlisle County Sheriff's Deputy.

Peace Officer Professional Standards
• Is a citizen of the United States;
• Is at least 21 years of age;
• Is a high school graduate or has successfully completed a General Education Development (G.E.D.) examination;
• Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle;
• Has been fingerprinted for a criminal background check;
• Has not been convicted of a felony;
• Is not prohibited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm;
• Has been interviewed;
• Has undergone a background investigation;
• Has taken a polygraph examination;
• Has taken a suitability screener;
• Has passed a drug screening test;
• Discharged under honorable conditions, if having served in the armed services;
• Has received and read the Kentucky law Enforcement Officer's Code of Ethics;

Peace Officer Applicants must also meet the remaining mandatory standards:
• Has passed a medical examination;
• Has passed a physical ability test;
• Has not had certification as a peace officer revoked in another state.
