Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation Names David Bizianes as New President and CEO
BARDSTOWN — The Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation (BIDC) has selected David Bizianes as its next President and Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than a decade of economic development experience to Nelson County.
The announcement was made Monday by the BIDC, which said Bizianes will officially begin his new role on July 6.
Bizianes most recently spent 10 years helping lead economic development efforts in Oldham County, where he worked to attract and support a variety of industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceutical operations, warehouse distribution, and parts assembly facilities. During his tenure, he also helped secure millions of dollars in infrastructure investments aimed at supporting long-term business growth.
A Louisville native, Bizianes said he is excited about the opportunity to lead economic development efforts in Bardstown and Nelson County.
“Bardstown is a special place,” Bizianes said. “I am honored to lead the Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation and can’t wait to get started. My family is thrilled to move to Nelson County and call Bloomfield home.”
BIDC President Bill Sheckles said Bizianes' background and experience make him a strong fit for the organization as it continues efforts to attract new businesses and support existing employers.
“I am pleased to welcome David to our NCEDA family,” Sheckles said. “His previous years of experience will fit perfectly with our efforts to continue significant growth along with business expansion efforts.”
Local leaders also praised the hiring.
Bardstown Mayor Dick Heaton called Bizianes “an outstanding addition” to the area's economic development team, citing his leadership experience and commitment to community development.
Nelson County Judge-Executive Tim Hutchins said Bizianes joins the organization at a pivotal time as development plans move forward for a new industrial park in the county.
“With the recent property acquisition and development of our new industrial park, his leadership comes at an exciting and important time for economic growth in Nelson County,” Hutchins said.
According to the BIDC, Bizianes developed an early appreciation for entrepreneurship while working in his family’s music store and believes successful communities are built through support for both major employers and small businesses.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Louisville. He and his wife, Beth, have two children, Ella and Jack.
The Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation is responsible for promoting industrial and economic growth in Bardstown and Nelson County through business recruitment, retention, expansion, and partnerships designed to encourage investment and job creation.
