Barberton students recently represented their school and community at the annual Destination Imagination Global Finals, joining thousands of students from around the world in a celebration of creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Barberton High School’s team, The Purple Pickles, earned an impressive tie for 9th place in the world, officially placing them “on the board” at Globals. Their outstanding performance showcased months of hard work, innovation, and dedication, competing against some of the best student teams internationally.

Barberton’s elementary team, The Greek Gods of Reading, also proudly represented the district and demonstrated strong teamwork and creativity throughout the competition.

In addition to competing, students had the opportunity to experience the unique culture of Destination Imagination by meeting students from around the globe, trading collectible pins, and watching teams from different countries present their creative solutions and performances.

The experience provided students with lasting memories, new friendships, and the chance to celebrate imagination and collaboration on a global stage. Barberton City Schools is proud of both teams for their accomplishments and for representing the community so well at Globals!

BIG CONGRATULATIONS & MORE TO COME!

Join us in celebrating Jaci Crawford, a talented Barberton High School Four Cities Compact Cosmetology student, for officially passing her Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Examination! 🙌

This is a tremendous achievement and a direct result of her hard work, dedication, and countless hours of practice. This incredible milestone marks the official beginning of an exciting new chapter in her professional journey, and we could not be prouder.

The future is looking incredibly bright, Jaci! Way to represent Barberton and the Four Cities Compact! 💜

More Compact students will be taking their licensing tests in the coming weeks, and we look forward to celebrating their success!

Please join us in welcoming Ava Hart to our team at Barberton Community Foundation as our summer Communications Intern!

Ava is a Barberton native, a proud 2024 Barberton High School alum, and a Barberton Community Foundation Scholarship recipient. She is a rising Junior at The Ohio State University studying marketing, with a minor in public policy.

Fun Fact: Ava is actually the first formal college summer intern in the Foundation’s 30-year history! This summer, she will be working closely with Kim Graves, our Director of Communications, on social media, marketing, and events all summer long.

We are so excited to have her back home making an impact this summer!

Help our Magics reach their reading goals! We are committed to the Success For ALL program, but we need your help to make it a reality for every student. Our students are asked to read to someone for 20 minutes a night, yet many of them don't have the opportunity to do this at home.

We are seeking volunteers for our Lucky Listener program at the Primary and Intermediate schools to bridge that gap. As a Lucky Listener, you will provide the support and encouragement our students need to gain confidence in their reading during the school day. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a direct impact on a child's education and support our mission of literacy for all.
