A little history...
Neighborhood Conservation Services of Barberton, Inc. was started in 1979 by a group of concerned residents, business and civic leaders, who believed that the spirit of Barberton, it’s people, and the community, was one of self reliance and determination, and that it needed some help to ensure that spirit continued through public programs that helped residents.
Over the past 39 years, NCS of Barberton has played different roles, completing different projects and providing different services and programs to the community. As times change, people change, neighborhoods and communities change, so do organizations. We have loaned well over $1,000,000 to residents of Barberton to make needed home repairs, painted over 200 residents homes with community volunteers, exchanged over 1,000 appliances with more energy efficient models, and helped many people with furnaces, hotwater tanks and other health and safety programs.
This year, Neighborhood Conservation Services of Barberton has been going back to the basics of why we’re here. Through the rest of 2018, and into 2019 (our 40th year), we’ll be focusing on helping the community in any way we can, being good neighbors and stewards of the community we call home.
