Thank you to KBIC member Al Gauthier who loaned us his AIM memorabilia for a display, reminding us of the movement's important place in history. We have many books on the subject, lest we forget the sacrifices of many.

The American Indian Movement (AIM) is an American Indian grassroots movement founded in Minneapolis in July 1968. Initially centered in urban areas to address systemic issues of poverty, discrimination, and police brutality against American Indians, AIM soon widened its scope to many Indigenous Tribal issues that American Indian groups have faced due to settler colonialism in the Americas. These issues have included treaty rights, high rates of unemployment, the lack of American Indian subjects in education, and the preservation of Indigenous cultures. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Indian_Movement

Last year, we posted these pages with images of a woman in regalia and asked you to color and hang them in your windows to show your support of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women all across the world. Since it had such a great turnout last year, we are doing it again!
