*** Brush 11 and Tender 11 deployed to the Rochelle Fire***

With four personnel between both units, they have been working to help contain this fire which is currently estimated at 1,318 acres.

Please help us wish all of these personal a safe a successful deployment.

*** Scenes From Georgia ***

Firefighters from the BNFD have been busy on the Highway 82 Fire near Atkinson, Georgia.

Since their deployment, the fire has grown to approximately 22,600 acres, however containment has increased to 32%.

During this incident Brush 11 has assisted in back burning operations, structure protection, and strengthening containment lines.

*** Brush 11 Deployed to Georgia ***

Brush 11 with two personnel have been assigned to the Brantley Highway 82 Fire near Atkinson Georgia.

The fire is currently estimated to be 7,556 Acres with 15% containment.

Please help us support these two personnel on a safe and successful deployment!

*** Come celebrate the United States 250th Anniversary with us! ***

We have many events scheduled for the 4th of July, which includes a pancake breakfast fundraiser, parade, and firework show.

Pancake Breakfast: 7:00 am - 9:00 am (1705 Sunset Blvd, Bar Nunn)

Parade: 11:00 am (Parade will start on the East side of McMurry Blvd then travel South on Antelope Dr. Following the parade will be a flag raising ceremony in front of the Bar Nunn Town Hall.)

Firework Show: 10:00 pm (Tonkawa Trl. and Westwinds Rd)

***Wildland Fire Training***

Last night the BNFD hosted and lectured a S-131 class (Firefighter Type 1). Multiple individuals from our department were joined by others from various agencies around the county.

With this training students will now move on to field work to complete their task books!

*** Brush 11-3 has been deployed to Nebraska.***

Brush 11-3 will be staffed with three firefighters and is assigned to help with initial attack operations on the Road 203 Fire.

The news no one likes to hear has just hit the Casper Firefighters, hard. One of our own, Captain Brian Dixon has been diagnosed with stage 3, possibly stage 4 mantle cell lymphoma. Brian is one of the bravest and strongest among us; loved for his wit, fun loving personality, and his energetic “nothing can stop me” mentality. Brian has always been the one we can lean on, and now it’s time to repay to debt. Brian faces a daunting road of treatment and hopefully recovery, down which we will follow and support him to our last breath. We don’t often ask for anything from the public, but in times like these we can use all the help we can get. Below is a link to a fundraising site that gives 100% of the donated money directly to the family, and adds 3.43% of their own money on top. Updated:Bar Nunn Fire Department is currently on scene of a Gas Leak in the area of Antelope Drive and Sioux Trail. Black Hills Energy is on scene with crews, investigating a possible gas main leak.

Please avoid the area as crews work to resolve this problem.

As on 10pm Black Hills Energy has secured the leak. Fire crews have cleared scene but Black Hills will remain on scene to conduit repairs. Please continue to be cautious in the areas for crews working.
