The Avery County Chamber’s June After Hours, hosted by Avery Heating & Air in Linville and co-hosted by UNC Health Appalachian, Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Waightstill’s Tavern & Restaurant, and Doe River Gorge Ministries, proved that a little rain can’t dampen the spirit of Chamber members! More than 65 attendees gathered for a dynamic summer BBQ-style evening filled with networking, laughter, and community connections.
Guests enjoyed a fresh burger bar prepared by Waightstill’s Tavern & Restaurant, delicious picnic-style sides from Williams Deli & Bakery, and sweet treats from High Country Pie Co. The festivities included yard games, friendly jousting competitions, and fantastic country rock music from Adam Rose and Monday Rain, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the evening.

The beverage selections were equally impressive, with refreshments provided by Booneshine Brewing Company, Kettell Beerworks, and Linville Falls Winery.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, the event raised more than $500 for the Avery County High School Scholarship Fund through the sale of curated baskets by Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, Timber & Twine, Country Bumpkin Candle Company, and more!
Special appreciation goes to everyone who participated in our BYOB (Bring Your Own Buddy) initiative, helping introduce prospective members to the many benefits—and magic—of being part of the Avery County Chamber family.
