101st Air Refueling Wing

101st Air Refueling Wing The Maine Air National Guard base in Bangor is home to the 101st Air Refueling Wing, affectionately known as the ' MAINEiacs'.

Deploy and employ air refueling, airlift, expeditionary aerospace and combat support forces around the world, while supporting National Security, Homeland Defense, and State of Maine objectives at home. The 101ARW is located at the Bangor International Airport with additional geographically separated units in South Portland and in Augusta. The 101st provides 24 hour air and ground refueling for many aircraft whose destination takes them across the Atlantic.

Earlier today, members from the 101st Air Refueling Wing gathered for a wreath laying ceremony at Voodoo Island to honor the 25th Anniversary of 9/11/2001.

The ceremony included an Chaplain's invocation, a moment of silence for the fallen, a speech from Colonel Clapp, and TAPS played by Colonel (Ret.) John Thomas.
