🇺🇸 Tunnel to Towers 2026 🇺🇸

This August 29th, members of your Bangor Professional Firefighters will be participating in the Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in Portland, supporting an organization that honors the sacrifice of fallen first responders, military service members, and the families they leave behind.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was born from the events of September 11th and continues to provide mortgage-free homes, smart homes for catastrophically injured heroes, and support for Gold Star and fallen first responder families.

Our members will do this 5k in full turnout gear to pay homage to those brave men and women that gave it all on 9/11.

The photos below capture what the fire service is truly about—brotherhood, family, service, and remembering those who came before us. Whether you’re a firefighter, a supporter of first responders, or simply someone who believes in giving back, we would be honored to have your support.

💙 Our fundraising goal is $500.
💙 Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
💙 If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this post or signing up to join our team!

🚑 The theme of EMS Week 2026 is “Improving Outcomes Together” and it kicks off by recognizing excellence in action.

Pictured here is FF/Medic Katie Weymouth. Together with her crew, they demonstrated exactly what your Bangor Professional Firefighters train for — responding under pressure when seconds matter most. Through teamwork, skill, and calm decision-making, the crew successfully achieved ROSC (Return of Spontaneous Circulation) in the field, giving a patient a fighting chance before arriving at the hospital.

For our community, moments like this are a reminder that EMS is more than transportation — it’s advanced medical care delivered at your doorstep, often on someone’s worst day.

Please join us in congratulating FF/Medic Katie Weymouth and her crew for their outstanding work and helping us kick off EMS Week 2026 by highlighting what service, training, and dedication truly look like. 👏🚑❤️

🔥 898 calls for service in the month of April.

🔥 3,452 incidents responded to already in 2026.

Behind every number is a neighbor needing help. Whether it be a medical emergency, a fire, a rescue, a mutual aid call with a neighboring community, a hazardous situation, or a family calling 911 on what may be the worst day of their lives.

Your Bangor Professional Firefighters remain committed to answering that call 24/7, but these numbers continue to highlight the growing demand placed on emergency services and the critical importance of maintaining safe staffing levels across our city.

From engines and rescues to command staff and specialty units, every apparatus and every firefighter plays a role in protecting our citizens. When staffing is strong, response capability, firefighter safety, and service to our citizens remain strong.

Thank you to all of you who continue to support the mission of the Bangor Fire Department and for continuing to support the men and women who proudly serve this community every day. 🚒
