Now, some Northern Light Medical Transport paramedics are embracing a slower-paced role focused on comfort, support, and quality of life: hospice care in the home.

This week, Kevin Springer, supervisor, Ambulance Services at our Ambulance Base at CA Dean Hospital in Greenville, was presented with the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council's Warren "Pete" Myrick Community Service Award.

Kevin is a 1990 graduate of Greenville High School and a lifetime Greenville resident. Whether responding to emergencies, mentoring new EMTs, or organizing community events, Kevin is known for his selflessness, compassion, and unwavering sense of duty.

Congratulations, Kevin, for leading by example, and thank you for all that you do!

Advanced EMT Katherine spent the afternoon inspiring EMT students at United Technology Center in Bangor.

Once a UTC student herself, Katherine obtained her EMT license and then became a member of the NLMT team. Recently, Katherine obtained her Advanced EMT license!

Today, she was able to share her wisdom with current EMS students at UTC. Many of these students will go on to serve local communities.

Thank you Katherine, thank you UTC and best of luck to the students!

The best suggestions for improving care come from our staff!

🚑 Caleb Cullen, staff paramedic, suggested that we obtain LUCAS mechanical CPR devices, technology that provides automated, continuous chest compressions. But Caleb didn't stop there...he gathered data and worked with leadership to explore funding sources. With Caleb's support and funding from the Davis Family Foundation we recently obtained three LUCAS devices for our Bangor-area ambulances.

Great job, Caleb, and thank you to the Davis Family Foundation for their support!

Today, Northern Light Mayo Hospital and the Town of Dover-Foxcroft announced that they will be collaborating on EMS coverage. This approach strengthens coverage in Dover-Foxcroft while increasing Mayo Hospital EMS’ resources to respond to calls throughout the 23 towns its services.
