As we enter the Primary election season, we thought we'd share a little about County taxes. We won't get political, but if fiscal issues are important to you, there are just a few weeks until State Primary June 9th. If you aren't up to speed on the candidates, contact your local municipal office for a sample ballot.

National Police Week

This week, Penobscot County recognizes and honors the men and women in law enforcement who serve our communities with courage, professionalism, and dedication.

Law enforcement officers face difficult situations every day — protecting the public, responding to emergencies, assisting those in crisis, enforcing the law fairly, and standing ready at all hours to serve others before themselves.

We especially recognize the members of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Division, and our law enforcement partners throughout Maine for their continued commitment to public safety.

National Police Week is also a time to remember and honor those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, as well as the families who support those who wear the badge.

Thank you to all law enforcement professionals for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to our communities.

The County has recently made a few significant updates using ARPA funds, including our HVAC system. While this was a costly investment, we are hopeful that a new, efficient system will assist with cost control in these crazy Maine winters.
