Slater Family Network has been assisting Bangor Area families for over 20 years. Our offices are located on the campus of the Bangor Area High School behind the horticultural greenhouse in two modular buildings. We pride ourselves in bridging the gap between families and much needed community resources. Things we can assist with include food, clothing, school supplies, diapers, rent*,utility pay

ments*, mental health counseling*,Holiday gifts and meals, and so much more.
*Need to meet the qualifications for assistance

I’m inviting veterans from across the 138th Legislative District to join me for a Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Mini Expo on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 8-10 a.m. at the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall.

The free breakfast is open to area veterans, active-duty military members and military spouses. Each veteran may bring one registered guest. Registration is required for both the veteran and guest.

Featuring Keynote Speaker: Brig. Gen. Frank McGovern.

I hope you’ll join me for a morning of appreciation, information and fellowship as we recognize those who have served our country.

The Northampton County Drug & Alcohol Division is holding a Community Listening Session, inviting those with lived experience of substance use disorder to share their experiences about accessing care, specifically gathering data on what’s working, what’s missing and what needs to improve. The listening session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, from 11am-12:30 p.m. at the Hope Center located at 429 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
