On behalf of all of us at the fire department, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who stepped up during this devastating time.

To the Bear Lake Fire Department, Lava Fire Department, Caribou County Fire Department, Soda Springs Fire Department, and the many farmers who brought their equipment, water trucks, tireless effort, and those who became members that day to help, thank you. Your support, coordination, and bravery helped us protect lives, homes, and land when every second mattered.

And to the community, your strength, compassion, and willingness to help one another remind us why we serve. Whether you brought food, offered shelter, donated supplies, or simply showed up with a helping hand, you made a difference.

There is no way this place would survive without people like you. We may wear the gear, but it’s the heart of this community that holds us all together.

Thank you for standing beside us. We are proud to serve you.

3. **Equipment Use:** Be mindful when using machinery that can spark, such as lawnmowers and chainsaws.

**🚨 Fireworks Safety Reminder from Bancroft Fire Department 🚨**

As we approach the celebration season, we want to remind everyone that fireworks can be both beautiful and dangerous. Safety should always come first!

**Here are some important tips to ensure a safe and fun experience:**

1. **Purchase Legal Fireworks:** Only buy fireworks from licensed sellers. Illegal fireworks are not only dangerous but also against the law.
2. **Adult Supervision:** Never allow children to handle fireworks. An adult should always be in charge.
3. **Follow Instructions:** Read and follow all safety instructions on the fireworks packaging.
4. **Safe Distance:** Light fireworks in an open area, away from people, houses, and flammable materials. Maintain a safe distance at all times.
5. **Keep Water Handy:** Always have a bucket of water or a hose nearby in case of fire or other emergencies.
6. **Dispose Properly:** Soak used fireworks in water before disposing of them in a trash can to prevent any potential fires.

For those who prefer a safer and equally spectacular option, consider attending one of the many professional fireworks displays happening around our city.

Stay safe and have a fantastic celebration!

As the cold weather makes its way to us, there are a few things we need to do in order to protect our homes against winter fires. According the U.S. Fires Admin, winter fires cause $2 billion in property damage and claim the lives of 890 people every year. Some of the causes of winter fires are lurking in your home. Yet, the good news is that most fires can be prevented. Take these steps to winterize your home and safeguard yourself against fires this winter.
1) Check your Chimney
2) Tune up your furnace
3) Test your electrical appliances
4) Maintain smoke detectors

Winter fires have the potential to cause extensive property damage and even loss of life. Taking these proactive steps can help you reduce the chance that you will be the victim of one.

Stay safe and stay warm!

With summer on its way, we all love to spend time in the outdoors. Remember, if you decide to have a fire in the designated fire pits, please make sure you never leave your fire unattended. And when you are done with the fire, make sure it is completely out before leaving the area. Enjoy the sun and be safe.
