This Independence Day, "Know Your Rights" on Illegal & Predatory Towing.

Holiday travel means more cars parked in unfamiliar lots, and more opportunities for predatory towing. Before you head out this weekend, know the signs: no posted signage, inflated or cash-only fees, towing without authorization, being blocked from retrieving your car, or an unlicensed tow operator.

If it happens to you, document everything. Take photos of the signage (or lack thereof), your vehicle, and the lot, and include the tow company name, receipt, date, time, and location, then file a complaint with the Department of Consumer Protection & Business Licensing (CPBL). We log complaints within 1 business day and follow up within 3 business days.
