This evening the BJFD had the honor to be invited to the VFW Post 3761 Auxiliary Legislative Update with State Senator Tim Schaffer. Valuable information on happenings at the State level was received by those in attendance. Thank you to the VFW Auxiliary for including us.

This is the second in a series of post about the safe discharge of fireworks. For clarification, 1.4G fireworks are basically all fireworks that a consumer can purchase at a fireworks dealer.

We have had some great fun the past few days visiting some of the lemonade stands around town. It is important for us to use these opportunities to make the kids comfortable with us so that in times of an emergency they know they can trust the BJFD and BPD and to encourage their hard work and enthusiasm.

We have been getting lots of questions about the legal rules about setting off fireworks. We will be putting out a series of posts to inform the residents about the laws around fireworks starting with the only days they are legal to discharge fireworks. All of this information can be found in the "Ohio Department of Commerce Consumer information on Ohio's Fireworks Laws" and the Ohio Revised Code as well as the Ohio Fire Code.

The early heat wave has created a need before we expected. If you would like to help others keep cool please drop off a new box fan to Station 610 or Station 611. We will accept fans all summer and take them to the Baltimore Area Food Pantry

Nothing like a little lemonade on a hot day! Station 610 crew stopped by this lemonade stand to get a little refreshment and interact with some of our community.
