A Baltimore man is headed to federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking conspiracy.

U.S. Chief District Judge George L. Russell sentenced Nathaniel Lightford, 47, to nine years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute and possessing with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of co***ne.

The illegal aliens, along with a seventh defendant, are charged with several crimes in connection with a drug trafficking organization operating in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Rodney “Bitcoin Rodney,” Burton, 56, of Miami, who also has a residence in Prince George’s County, Maryland, pled guilty to conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business stemming from his role as a promoter of the cryptocurrency scam.

IRS Criminal Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations are investigating this case.
