Our community library provides excellent, free print and online resources. Over 7,000 Baltimore City residents now hold VLP library cards.

The Village Learning Place is an independent non-profit library that houses educational programs, enrichment opportunities, and informational resources for Charles Village and throughout Baltimore City. Our collection of nearly 20,000 circulating books includes titles by classic and contemporary authors, as well as an excellent collection of childrens literature. We are always improving our new Sp

ecial Collections, which include Local Interest, Gardening, Parenting, Cooking, and African-American History & Literature.

📣 Priority preregistration opens TODAY at noon!

LINK After School returns Monday, October 5 for the 2026–2027 school year! Baltimore students in Kindergarten through 5th grade can enjoy FREE after-school programming with academic enrichment in reading, math, and science, plus healthy snacks and supper—all in a safe, supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and have fun.

Priority preregistration begins at 12 PM today, September 1 for students who are performing below grade level, speak English as a second language, have an IEP or 504 plan, and/or receive certain financial assistance. Preregistration for students who do not have priority eligibility will follow based on class availability.

Village Learning Place is looking for a strong writer, relationship-builder, and nonprofit development generalist to help grow the support behind our mission.

This full-time, hybrid Baltimore role leads grant writing and reporting, donor engagement, individual giving, fundraising events, development communications, and donor systems. The new Development Manager will also help VLP prepare for its 30th anniversary and advance a capital campaign.

We’re especially interested in candidates who bring at least three years of relevant experience, excellent writing and editing skills, professional maturity, adaptability, and genuine energy for engaging with the Baltimore community. Capital campaign experience is a plus.

Salary: $60,000-$65,000
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours | Hybrid in Baltimore
