While all members of the team participate in EMT training, 30 of them hold the title of Nationally Registered Paramedic.

Nearly 75% of response calls here at the airport involve our EMS providers.

Every singe day our first responders put their lives on the line to serve. I was proud to help pass legislation that helped Local 1742 with their bargaining and arbitration rights. Improving working conditions and fair bargaining matters.

I have also passed numerous bills that helped provide the Professional Fire Fighters of Maryland with cancer screening and other Healthcare benefits, including the recent hypertension legislation.

When firefighters are there for our community, we need to be there for them. Thank you to Local 1742 and first responders for your support.

Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters are operating on an overturned bus with a Mass Casualty Incident declared on southbound Rt. 295 at Route 198. Firefighters, paramedics, and EMS crews from Prince George’s County, Howard County, Fort Meade and BWI are assisting with rescue, triage, treatment, and transport operations.

🚨 LIVE FROM SOUTH LAUREL 🚨

🚨 🔥Working Residential Dwelling Fire – Laurel 🔥🚨

Anne Arundel County Professional Fire Fighters are currently operating on a working residential dwelling fire in the 3400 block of Urbana South.

Units responding from:
Maryland City, Odenton, Harmans-Dorsey, Jesup, Severn, with mutual aid from Prince George’s County, Howard County, Fort Meade, and BWI Airport.

Due to cross-staffing, the following units are out of service:
• Engine 4
• Engine 29

At this incident, Rescue 4 is the only Anne Arundel County unit operating with the NFPA 1710 minimum staffing of four firefighters. All other county units are operating with three firefighters.

All mutual-aid units responding are staffed with four firefighters, meeting the national standard.

We remain committed to working with the County Administration to secure safe staffing, as Anne Arundel County is currently over 350 firefighters short.
