The Pale Blue Eye 👁️ is a fictional story of Edgar Allan Poe's time at West Point where he helps investigate the murder of a fellow cadet. While this movie did cause some stirring with the liberties it takes with Poe's time at West Point, we enjoy it as a suspenseful, fun and fanciful fan fiction of Poe. ☠️🐦‍⬛

Epic Rap Battles of history was a staple for young internet goers in the 2010's. Through the years the team at ERB produced tons of rap battles pitting two well known historic figures against each other having the two duke it out with quick wit and exciting visuals. Poe features in a two minute heated battle with modern horror writer Steven King. Who do you think won? 🤣🔮

NO! 🐦‍⬛‼️In reality Poe was someone who, like a lot of us, struggled with mental health.
This quote comes from Rufus Griswold in Poe’s obituary. Griswold was a known detractor of Poe and in his writing of Poe’s obituary filled it with character assassinations and falsehoods.

May is mental health awareness month, and words like "crazy" and "mad" get thrown a lot especially with Edgar Allan Poe. He had a very adverse childhood, lived in poverty and saw many of his loved ones pass away. He likely did struggle with his mental health, but the continued descriptions of him as a madman who's insanity was the foundation of his craft is unfortunate. He was a creative and talented author on his own merit.

Wednesday took the internet by storm in 2022, but did you catch all of the allusions to Poe and his works in the show? Clearly some Poe fans were in the writing room as the show constantly refers to his work (Nevermore Academy 🐦‍⬛ is the name of the school after all !) and even shows the man himself as one of the fictional school's alumni!
